• Start making a list of potential colleges

• Begin to visit your potential colleges

• Attend UNT Preview

• Take Advanced Placement exams

• Review college options
• Review requirements and deadlines for admission, housing, financial aid and scholarships
• Begin preparing to narrow college choices

While you’re a senior

September

• Register for the fall SAT or ACT if necessary. Forward test results to UNT. UNT’s SAT school code is 6481 and ACT code is 4136
• Search for possible scholarships

October

• Apply to UNT. Remember to send in transcripts and application fee
• Apply for a UNT residence hall room and include deposit and prepayment
• Take a tour

January

• Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Designate UNT as the college to receive your FAFSA information. UNT’s school code is 003594

February

• Take the Texas Higher Education Assessment test. Forward test results to UNT
• Apply for UNT general academic scholarships by March 1
